The foundation compiles academic research findings on dictatorships in Europe, curates them to make them accessible and available to as wide an audience as possible through its educational programming. Our events play a central role in this work. These include seminars, conferences, and workshops as well as book presentations and readings, film and theatre performances and concerts.

While the SED dictatorship may now be a memory, that past also affects our present and future. Our events in particular make it possible to pick up on current debates and social issues to broaden our view to consider the larger context.

We invite everyone to our events who, like us, stands against dictatorships and wants to talk to us and others about them. Open communication is very important to us.

We ask visitors who need additional assistance (the visually impaired,
wheelchair users, etc.) to let us know in advance of the event (email: barrierefrei@stiftung-ettersberg.de, telephone: +49 (0)361 219212 – 0)
